Girls in Science and Technology Program
Attempting to bridge the technology gender gap in industry, the Girls in Science and Technology Program (GIST) is a collaborative effort developed by the AHMEC and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania to offer a fun and educational hands-on program where girls engage in classes in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Each year the girls explore a different topic through hands-on activities and fun interactive sessions.
Each class is mentored by female college students in the STEM fields from local universities. In turn, the female college students are mentored by regional industry leaders from companies such as The Boeing Company, Enersys and Greene Tweed.
